What's on Me: My Favorites

Holla, dudes! How’s your day? I hope it’s a nice day for you guys! Btw, right now I’m in a very good mood! Yash! Since I’m on fire to write a post, I’ll share you something. Yep, as the theme of this post “What’s on Me”, on this post I’ll share about my favorites! Let’s check out what are my favorite things!

·         Music
Yes, I put music on the first place. It’s because I love music that much! I can say that no day without music. Almost every day I listen to music. I love to listen to Western songs. It’s good to practice my pronunciation and listening ability. I listen to almost all genres of music. But, most of the time is Pop music. And of course I have favorite singers. My number one favorite singer is Jessie J. She’s one of the most underrated UK female singers in the world. I just love her about 2 year ago. Why? Click here to know my reason being a fan of Jessie J! J
Aside from Jessie J, I also love Adele. I’ve known her songs since I was in Senior High School. Someone Like You was my first favorite of Adele’s. Adele is known for her mellow songs. Most of her songs are telling about love and break up relationship. But, I love her songs not because of it haha. Her songs are easy listening, and her voice is so powerful.
Well, beside love to listen to music, I also love to play a music instrument. The music instrument that I love to play is guitar. Well, actually I’m not good at playing guitar, I still learning. I started to play guitar since I was in Junior High School. At first, I learn to play guitar because it was one of the qualifications to pass Arts subject. But now, I can’t stop to strum it! It’s my best friend! Thank you my Arts teacher for forcing us to learn the instrument! J.

·         Drama
Hmm… hmm… Do I watch dramas? Indeed! K-Drama? Nope! Hehehe. The only drama I love is a drama (‘teleserye’ in Tagalog) from Philippines. The title is Be Careful with My Heart. I tell you, this is THE BEST DRAMA I ever watched! Promise! This is also the first drama that I watch from the first until the last episode! I never watch drama as good, as beautiful, as nice, as positive as this one! Yes, this drama full of positive vibes and messages. It’s really worth to watch. Because, the story tells us about someone who never gives up to reach her dreams. It gives us a spirit to reach our dreams. Be Careful with My Heart also teach us how to be a better person, a care and loving person and it also show us how to solve the problem with a cool head. For the synopsis, you can read it here: Be Careful with My Heart

·         Games
Who don’t love games? I think no one, hehehe. Yep, I love playing games to waste my time. Joke! I mean to spend my spare time. What’s the difference? Hahhaha. Ok skip… Well, I love to play Simulation, Management Time, and Puzzle games. My most favorite is simulation genre; I can say that The Sims and Harvest Moon is the best. I can’t spend my whole day to play them. Such a ‘gabut’ person, right? LOL. But, it’s true, when the holiday comes. If not, I’ll be ruined my campus schedule hehhe. Btw, I think it’s been a long time not playing those games. The last time I played The Sims and Harvest Moon was about 2 year ago. Wow, I can’t believe I can survive that long haha! Thank God, I think I’m happy with my study. J

Whoaaaa my stomach is rumbling! Sorry, it forces me to end this post! Hahaha. So dudes, that’s all about my favorite things. Do you have the same interest as mine? Comment below if you do. It’s nice to share and to read about yours too! Thank you for reading and have a nice day, dudes! J

Movie Review: Johnny English Reborn

Johnny English Reborn Movie

Movie Review: Johnny English Reborn

Rowan Atkinson reprises his role as the clueless English spy in Johnny English Reborn. The original Johnny English was released in 2003 and earned an impressive sum of $28 million coming from the US. Will the sequel rack up some dough in the states the second time around?
Chances are those fans of Mr. Bean and families will show up to support this child-friendly film and probably enjoy doing so. Johnny English Reborn travels the globe, jumping from London to Hong Kong to Switzerland, and tells us the story of English’s return to MI7. There’s an impressive cast involved that could have easily been cast in an actual James Bond flick. So, with that in mind, let’s see if was necessary to reborn this Johnny English.

The English:
-          Director   : Olive Parker
-          Writer      : William Davies, Hamish Mc Coll, Neal Purvis, Robert Wade
-          Starring    : Rowan Atkinson, Rosamund Pike, Dominic West
-          Original Music by    : Ilan Esheri
-          Cinematography by  : Danny Cohen
-          Distributor: Universal Pictures

The Plot:
Johnny English comes back to MI7 after learning martial arts in Tibet as punishment for an earlier disastours mission in Mozambique. MI7 (Codenamed Toshiba British Intelligence) identifies him as the best agent for a new mission which requires stopping a group of international assassin before they kill the Chinese premier and cause global chaos.

The Good:
·         Clever Moments
The first 20 minutes of the film build up English’s characters as a super clever spy. He chases after an Asian gentleman but instead of exhausted himself by jumping of buildings or climbing down ladders, he takes a more subdued approach. He takes an elevator, for example. It wasn’t very funny seeing English avoid the action but it does leave one in awe that one character (the Asian) is running for his life while the other (English is just barely running and still catching up.
·         Playing It Straight
One of the ways comedy seems to work is when the characters play it straight, as if they really believe that they are stuck in this situation. The latest example I can think of is 30 minutes or less when Jesse Einsenberg’s character really thought has was going to die. That’s what they movie does. It plays it like a drama adding characters that would make sense in the world of espionage, but then adds this dim witted Johnny English to bring in more laughs.

The Bad:
·         Very Specific Humor
Even if you’re a fan of spoof comedy -Austin Powers, Ace Ventura, or Mr. Bean- this humor is childish at best. There is a market for it out there. Perhaps those kids who like seeing grannies get punched or men forcibly put on lipstick.

Overall:

Rowan Atkinson is a funny guy, on screen. Undoubtedly he’s a guy who can make you laugh with a simple change of facial expression, but Johnny English Reborn isn’t his best work. There’s an impressive cast involved that acts as if this were an actual James Bond film, and while that works occasionally, it doesn’t save the film.

What's on Me: I'm a Heartbeat

I’m a Heartbeat

Heartbeats, that’s how Jessie J calls her fans. Yes, I’m a heartbeat. I love Jessie J. I love her personality and of course her music. It’s been 2 years since the first time I felt in love with her. It’s 2015. On June 2015, I tried a karaoke application on my phone. It’s called Smule. It gave a suggestion to sing duet with Jessie J. Ok, game! I tried it. It’s so funny and awkward sing along with a singer, side by side. We’re singing Flashlight. Flashlight is the newest song of Jessie J, and it’s also an original soundtrack of Pitch Perfect 2 movie. That was so fun singing with her! (Even though it’s not real, but still I’m so proud of myself LOL). I could see she’s cute, pretty, funny, and has a good heart. She stole my heart!
After recording the karaoke, then I upload it to my Instagram. I tagged Jessie J on my caption. Then I click her username. It is my first time I saw her Instagram profile. I followed her and started to scroll her posts. That day, she just posted some posts about her illness. She’s on hospital, operation room. I watched her video and read the caption, and suddenly in love with her! All I can say is, “God, please let her be healthy, we’re so sad see her in that condition. She’s a nice person, she has a good heart, and I love her.” Yes, I said it. By only seeing her posts, I felt in love with her. Believe it or not, some years back, I don’t like her, because of her appearance. Her make up’s so sharp; her fashion’s so bad (for me). I don’t like her look when Price Tag era came. But, now? I don’t know why. It makes me believe, love needs no reasons! J
After seeing her posts, I started to watch her videos on Youtube. I watched everything about her; music videos, interviews, talk shows, radio tours, song covers, gigs, concerts, and so on. And those videos made me fall in love deeper with her! I just can’t help myself and can’t stop blaming and asking “Why I just know her this time? Why??!!” I knew it’s too too too late! But, it’s better late than never, right? I wish I could meet her in person!J
I started make a video about how I felt in love with Jessie J and became a Heartbeat. It takes about three days to finish it. I uploaded on my Youtube channel and asked for my friends (Heartbeats) to watch my video. Unexpectedly, I got positive feedbacks from them. They loved it, and welcomed me. It continued until someone commented on my post. She’s Indonesian! Yes, Indonesian Heartbeat! I was so happy she noticed me; we started to contact each other. In short, we decided to make a fan account on Instagram. Taadaaaa~ on July 5th 2015 we launched @indo_heartbeats. We post everything, photos and videos about Jessie J. We met so many Heartbeats around the world. We’re united to support our favorite, Jessica Ellen Cornish!
The happiest year of me is 2016. Guess what happened last year? Yeaah! Jessie J came to Indonesia for the third times! Dream came true, wish granted! I got a chance to meet her for the first time! She came to Indonesia because of NET TV. NET invited Jessie J as one of it guest stars for NET anniversary (NET 3.0, May 29th 2015). On that night, one of my besties sent to our WhatsApp group a poster of NET 3.0, and there was Jessie J (along with Omi and Dawin) on it! OH GOD! I was shaking! “We must watch her live!” I said to them. FYI, the only way to go to NET 3.0 is by joining their quizzes to get the tickets. Then, I kept watching @netmediatama twitter account to know about the quizzes. They held the quizzes for about a month. The first day of quiz, I joined it. I answered the questions with random feelings; hopeful, panicked, cold sweating, etc. It would be announced on the next day at 4 pm. I JUST CAN’T WAIT!! Keep looking on my watch, LOL!

That evening, with one of my best friends at the café, waited for the meeting. The clock was pointing at 4. I grabbed my phone to see the tweets of @netmediatama. I found nothing… Okay, I know, I’m in Indonesia, rubber time hehehe. Just keep waiting, patiently waiting, heart’s beating fast. The clock showed me 5. Still, got nothing and hopeless feeling was coming. I chit-chated with my bestie to calm my mind, kept away my phone. Then suddenly the new tweet notification’s beeping. I grabbed my phone, and………… it said:

YEAAAH!! I WON!

I kept saying “OMG! Really? It’s really happening!” My bestie saw the real me! She witnessed my excitement and happiness! Hhahaha! Lucky you, sis! “Alhamdulillah… Thank God! You granted my wish!” So glad! Speechless! Such the happiest day of my life! I told everyone, my parents, my group, about this! hahaha. They’re happy for me, I knew they’re envy, sorry for that hehehe.
@netmediatama team asked for me to send my identity for the term of the tickets. Yeah, ‘tickets’. A winner would get two tickets! Fiuuuhhh… finally, the ticket’s saved! Just wait until it’s on my hand and see you Jessie J! But the sacrifices not just stop there. I kept watch the tweets and quizzes, and inform my group to answered them, hand in hand, right? Finger crossed! Well, the last day of competition’s arrived; it’s also the announcement day for quizzes this past a month. And luckily…. Two of my friends got the tickets too! They won! The one is my heartbeat friend (another admin of @indo_heartbeats) and another one is my bestie. Yeaahh! Party’s about to come!!
Three days before NET 3.0 ceremony, the four of us went to The East, NET.’s office, to get the tickets. After waiting in a long line, we finally got these! Two festival tickets and two tribune tickets!

NET. 3.0 tickets
Sunday, May 29th 2016 we finally reached SICC (Sentul International Convention Center) for NET. 3.0 and of course to see Jessie J and sing along! We arrived there about at 4pm. We queued on the separated row. Me and DU on festival row, meanwhile EI and CDS on tribune row. We have to show our tickets to the committees and they wore us a bracelet. Unfortunately they took our tickets L (I thought to save it before haha). This is the look of our bracelets!

The official bracelet of NET. 3.0

The ceremony started at 7pm. At 6pm we allowed to enter the venue. So crowd! Push here and there. We’re excited to see our favorites. Finally the host came on the stage and opened the ceremony. Guess what??? Jessie J had the opening number!! She came with Bang Bang song! I was extremely happy! Woohooo!!! We’re on the same place, ground, and roof! We breathed the same air! We sang along, enjoying the night. Jessie J sang 5 songs that night. Her performance was so amazing! Especially when she sang Flashlight, all of the audience turned their flashlights on. Goosebumps! Another dream came true was when Jessie J sang Price Tag in reggae version! Whoaaaaa my night was completely beautiful! Thank you NET. for bringing Jessie J back to Indonesia. She seemed so happy to be here. I could see that by seeing her posts on Instagram and Snapchat. She posted so many photos and videos! These ones made me happy overload!
Well, these are Jessie J pics while on NET. 3.0 (credit to the owners):

The event’s finished at about 11pm. Then we were out the venue and met so many artists. Unfortunately, we didn’t meet Jessie J L. But no problem, at least I just saw her closely. The human who’s beautiful inside and out! Thank you for the amazing performances that night!
The happiness still continues until the following day! On the afternoon, I got a mention from three of my classmates! The tweets’ points were the same, Jessie J answered my question! She did it on Sarah Sechan show! I turn the TV on to see it. But, it’s wrapped… So sad. No, I wasn't disappointed, I knew it would be uploaded on Sarah Sechan show Youtube channel. And YES! A few hours later, they uploaded the interview. I watched it! And IT’S TRUE! Oh God! Thank you again! Double blessings! Yes, few days back Sarah Sechan show tweeted that they’d interview Jessie J and they wanted us to give some questions for Jessie J. Of course I didn’t want to miss this chance! Then, I tweeted about 5 questions haha! Luckily one of them was picked by Sarah Sechan! I asked about Jessie J’s hidden talents (I already knew it actually, just to make sure hehee). She answered it exactly as what I know. She can speak with a mouth closed! You go girl! Haha.

Well, I admit everything leads me to Jessie J. I feel so lucky. Only in a year become a fan of Jessie J and got a chance to meet her in person! So blessed! 2016 was the best year in my life (for now). I can’t thank enough to Allah for giving me those chances! I hope I will meet her again, watch her live concert in the near future. Aamiin.

"You Don't Really Know Me" - Jessie J

(Verse 1)
The girl who always says yes
Wants to scream no
Takes over everyone's stress
And ignores her own
The life and soul of the party
But loves to stay home
She say's she's not broken-hearted
But she cries on her own

(Pre-chorus)
Playing pretend
I shouldn't hide it
It isn't right
Being a liar
I'm crossing the line
Dancing with fire,
When I'm not fine
Should I deny it?

(Chorus 1)
Cause I'm going crazy when I'm not okay,
I keep praying that the cracks don't show my pain,
Cause even when I'm falling, I say my life is like a dream,
But I'm fighting through a nightmare,
Cause I'm not really being me,
See you don't really know me

(Verse 2)
The girl who starts all the jokes
Just make her laugh,
Preaches the do's and the don't's
But loves to be bad,
Smiles when they guess who she's loving
What they say makes her mad
She says "I'm fine, I need nothing"
But she hopes for your hand

Back to (Pre-chorus)

(Chorus 2)
Cause I'm going crazy when I'm not okay,
I keep praying that the cracks don't show my pain,
Cause even when I'm falling, I say my life is like a dream,
But I'm fighting through a nightmare,
Cause I'm not really being me,
See you don't really know me, baby, oh no

(Bridge)
You don't really know me, no no,
You don't really know me,
How can you know me?
You don't really know me,
You don't really know me,

Back to (Chorus 2)

(Outro)
How can you know me? me, me, me, ooh, mhhm
You're gunna get to know me

"Anda Tidak Benar-Benar Mengenal Saya" - Jessie J

(Verse 1)
Gadis yang selalu bilang iya
Ingin menjerit tidak
Mengambil alih tekanan setiap orang
Dan mengabaikan dirinya sendiri
Kehidupan dan jiwa partai
Tapi suka tinggal di rumah
Dia bilang dia tidak patah hati
Tapi dia menangis sendiri

(Pre-chorus)
Bermain berpura-pura
Seharusnya aku tidak menyembunyikannya
Itu tidak benar
Menjadi pembohong
Aku sedang melewati batas
Menari dengan api,
Saat aku tidak baik-baik saja
Haruskah saya menyangkalnya?

(Chorus 1)
Karena aku menjadi gila saat aku tidak baik-baik saja,
Saya terus berdoa agar celah-celah itu tidak menunjukkan rasa sakit saya,
Karena bahkan saat aku jatuh, kukatakan hidupku seperti mimpi,
Tapi aku berjuang melalui mimpi buruk,
Karena aku tidak benar-benar menjadi diriku,
Sampai jumpa, kamu tidak benar-benar mengenal saya

(Verse 2)
Gadis yang memulai semua lelucon itu
Buat saja dia tertawa,
Mengkhotbahi do's dan yang tidak
Tapi suka menjadi buruk,
Senyum saat mereka menebak siapa dia mencintai
Apa yang mereka katakan membuatnya marah
Dia berkata "Saya baik-baik saja, saya tidak membutuhkan apapun"
Tapi dia berharap untuk tanganmu

Kembali ke (Pre-chorus)

(Chorus 2)
Karena aku menjadi gila saat aku tidak baik-baik saja,
Saya terus berdoa agar celah-celah itu tidak menunjukkan rasa sakit saya,
Karena bahkan saat aku jatuh, kukatakan hidupku seperti mimpi,
Tapi aku berjuang melalui mimpi buruk,
Karena aku tidak benar-benar menjadi diriku,
Sampai jumpa, kamu tidak benar-benar mengenal saya, sayang, oh tidak

(Bridge)
Anda tidak benar-benar mengenal saya, tidak, tidak,
Anda tidak benar-benar mengenal saya,
Bagaimana Anda bisa mengenal saya?
Anda tidak benar-benar mengenal saya,
Anda tidak benar-benar mengenal saya,

Kembali ke (Chorus 2)

(Outro)
Bagaimana Anda bisa mengenal saya? Aku, aku, aku, ooh, mhhm
Anda gunna mengenal saya

“Kamu Tidak Begitu Mengenal Diriku” - Jessie J

(Verse 1)
Perempuan yang selalu bilang iya
Ingin menjerit tidak
Mempedulikan masalah orang lain
Sedangkan masalahnya diabaikan
Kehidupan dan jiwanya ada di pesta
Tetapi lebih senang berada di rumah
Dia bilang dia tidak sedang patah hati
Tetapi dia menangis seorang diri

(Pre-chorus)
Bermain dalam kepura-puraan
Aku tidak seharusnya menyembunyikannya
Sangat tidak baik
Menjadi seorang pembohong
Aku melewati batas
Menari dengan api,
Ketika aku sedang bersedih
Haruskan aku menyangkalknya?

(Chorus 1)
Karena aku berubah gila ketika aku sedang bersedih,
Aku tetap berdoa agar keretakan ini tidak menyakitkan
Karena bahkan ketika aku terjatuh, Aku berkata hidupku seperti mimpi,
Tetapi aku melawannya lewat mimpi buruk,
Karena aku tidak menjadi diriku yang sebenarnya,
Lihatlah kamu tidak begitu mengenal diriku

(Verse 2)
Perempuan yang selalu membuat lelucon
Hanya untuk membuat dirinya tertawa,
Menyuarakan yang baik dan tidak,
Tetapi lebih menyukai untuk menjadi yang buruk,

Short Story: Crush(ed)

Crush(ed)
By: dibaarizkia

There she was, waiting for public car to come. As usual, she was carrying the same bright pink backpack, easily recognizable. Actually, that’s what I first noticed on her the first time I saw her. Only later did, I noticed that the owner also had a friendly face and a beautiful smile. And that got me hooked.
It’s 7.45 AM. The public car would come soon. I really wanted to have my move before she got on the public car and then got off again. “Please help me, God! I must know her name and get her phone number today.” I whispered, trying to work up my courage.
Well, I was just steps away from her now. I was so nervous and I didn’t know what to do. By the way, this was new for me. I haven’t had a crush when I was in high school. Now, I am a freshman at Gunadarma University, and I feel more mature and ready to have a relationship.
She suddenly stood up and I realized that the public car was coming. I stood right behind her. When she got on the public car, I followed her to get to a seat and immediately sit next to her. And succeed!
“Hi! Where are you going?” I asked her.
“I’m going to Gunadarma University.” She replied immediately. Gosh, she was so friendly, ready to chat with a complete stranger.
            “What major?” I asked again.
            “English Department.” She said sweetly.
“Which grade are you?” I asked her again, but I noticed that she looks a little bit uncomfortable.
“Oh, I’m sorry! I haven’t introduced myself. My name is Raffa. What’s yours?” I asked while extending my hand. She smiled and took my extended hand and said, “Hi. I am Naura.” God! What a beautiful smile!
“So do you mind telling me which grade are you?” I gave her what I believe is my most enchanting smile.
“Second grade.” She answered a bit wary. I knew what she felt exactly. But, this is my chance to get to know her well.
Then, I tried to ask her phone number. But…, she prepared to get off from the public car. Unfortunately, today we didn’t go to the same campus. Campus E and G. Those campuses separated us again.
Foolishly, I didn’t ask her class. So, I couldn’t visit her on the break-time. Well, for the next time, I wouldn’t be like this again! It’s so waste the time.

Well, today was one of my beautiful days. Even though I didn’t have her phone number, the important one was we had a quiet long conversation this beautiful morning. And I would remember her smile with “good bye, see you” words when she got off the public car, forever! I really hope we could meet again to express and tell my feeling to you, Naura! J
